The Supreme Court while issuing an order emphasized full and scrupulous adherence to its earlier directions dated July 13, 2022. The Court noted with concern that the States of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh had not properly understood or implemented the order requiring the clubbing of multiple FIRs into the principal FIR and the granting of bail on consolidated terms.
The Court granted one week for the State of Maharashtra to obtain instructions and issued notices to the States of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to respond before the matter’s next hearing on September 19, 2025. Subsequently, the Court acknowledged the applicant’s release on bail in one of the FIRs and disposed of the miscellaneous application with a directive that the earlier order be strictly followed in letter and spirit
Disposing of the matter, the Court directed that its 13 July 2022 order must be “scrupulously followed and abided” by the States concerned.
