The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, has announced the appointment of former Chief Justice of India, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, as a Distinguished Professor. The honorary academic title is conferred upon individuals of exceptional stature and accomplishment in their respective fields.
Justice Khanna, the 51st Chief Justice of India, retired on May 13, 2025. He was elevated to the Supreme Court on January 18, 2019, and held several significant judicial and administrative positions during his tenure.
The appointment was made following a request from Professor Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor of HPNLU, which Justice Khanna graciously accepted.
