The Judicial Magistrate First Class at Dwarka Courts, New Delhi, convicted several accused persons under Section 228 of the IPC for contemptuous conduct during court proceedings. The court noted that despite repeated calls from 10:00 AM to 11:40 AM, the accused failed to furnish bail bonds as required under earlier orders.
As a result, the accused were held guilty of disrupting the judicial process and were ordered to stand in court with their hands raised until the court rose for the day. The accused was taken into custody after failing to furnish bail bonds and was remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody. The Court ordered that his next appearance be made via video conferencing on 29 July 2025.
However, at 12:48 PM the same day, accused’s counsel moved a bail application, stating that a surety was available. Upon furnishing the required personal and surety bonds of ₹10,000 each, and given the bailable nature of the offence, the court granted him bail and ordered his release from custody.
The matter was adjourned for pre-charge evidence and is now listed for further proceedings on 11 August 2025.
