On 16 August 2025, the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF), led by its President Dr. Lalit Bhasin along with senior office bearers, held a solemn Independence Day meeting at Pahalgam, the site of the 22 April 2025 terrorist massacre of innocent tourists.
In its resolution, SILF expressed solidarity with the nation in its fight against terrorism, commended the Armed Forces and the Hon’ble Prime Minister for the successful cross-border Operation Sindoor, and hailed India’s ability to display both “Shakti” (strength) and “Sanyyam” (restraint) by targeting terrorist camps while avoiding civilian harm. The leadership also lauded the joint Operation Mahadev by the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police which eliminated the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack.
SILF members offered condolences to the victims’ families and pledged assistance. The resolution also strongly rejected negative narratives about India’s economy, affirming that India remains vibrant and fast-growing, supported by strong government initiatives and public participation.
