The Delhi High Court on August 19, 2025 quashed two interconnected FIRS which were filed by both the complainant and accused. Justice Arun Monga quashed the FIRs on the condition that both the disputing parties serve pizzas and buttermilk to children and staff of a government-run childcare institution.
The matter was registered when two FIRs were filed on 05.05.2025 at Mansarovar Park Police Station, Delhi, following a verbal altercation between the parties over the handling of their respective pets, which escalated into allegations of assault, misbehaviour, and intimidation. However, the counsel for the petitioner admitted that a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) had been signed between the parties on 01.07.2025 as an amicable settlement. The petitioner further stated that the two FIRs had arisen out of a misunderstanding and that they no longer wished to pursue the matter, to which the respondent raised no objection.
The Court observed that since the case was a private matter and both the parties had amicably signed an agreement, continuing it further would be an abuse of process of law. The Court further noted that the complainant was engaged in the business of baking and selling pizzas. Accordingly, the FIRs were quashed on the condition that the petitioner and the respondent would jointly serve pizzas along with buttermilk to the children and staff of Sanskar Ashram at Dilshad Garden, Delhi, as community service. Compliance with this direction was to be overseen by the Investigating Officer, who was provided with the menu and tasked with ensuring the quality of the food.
