Delhi Court Acquits Railway Officer And Others in Rs. 5 Lakh Bribery Case

Delhi Court Acquittal

Sh. Sudhanshu Kaushik, Ld. Special Judge (CBI) (PC Act) at Rouse Avenue Court, acquitted all accused charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and relevant IPC provisions.

The prosecution had alleged that the accused, a 1997-batch IRTS officer and then Director of Traffic Transportation (Coaching), received illegal gratification to facilitate the hiring of railway coaches for group tours organized by M/s Rail Tour India LLP, Sh. Rajesh Champaklal Jodhani, and Sh. Kumar Vadilal Shah. The case involved intercepted calls and a purported bribe of Rs. 5 lakhs allegedly received during a trap conducted at Sharma’s residence on 22.10.2014.

After detailed consideration of arguments from both sides, the Court found the evidence insufficient to prove the charges and acquitted all accused.
