The Supreme Court has issued notice on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking the creation of a centralized portal to enable citizens to access details of all their financial assets whether active, inactive, dormant, or inoperative held across entities regulated by the RBI, IRDAI, National Savings Institute, and the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority.
A Bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta heard the matter and directed the Union Government to respond to the plea, which aims to streamline asset tracking and enhance transparency for account holders.
