On August 8, 2025, the President of India, in consultation with the respective constitutional authorities, issued a series of appointment notifications under Articles 217 and 224 of the Constitution, approving the elevation and appointment of judges to various High Courts across the country. The appointments were notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice through official Gazette publications.
Key Appointments:
Andhra Pradesh High Court:
Following Four Additional Judges have been appointed as Permanent Judges of the High Court.
- Justice Harinath Nunepally,
- Justice Kiranmayee Mandava,
- Justice Sumathi Jagadam, and
- Justice Nyapathy Vijay
Calcutta High Court:
Two Additional Judges, Justice Partha Sarathi Sen and Justice Apurba Sinha Ray, have been elevated as Permanent Judges.
The tenure of following seven Additional Judges has been extended for one year, effective August 31, 2025

Delhi High Court:
Vimal Kumar Yadav, a judicial officer, has been directly appointed as a Judge of the Delhi High Court
Karnataka High Court:
Justice Gurusiddaiah Basavaraja, previously an Additional Judge, appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Karnataka High Court
