Allahabad High Court Issues Bailable Warrant Against District Magistrate, Bijnor for Non-Compliance in Contempt Case

Vikram Singh v. Ms Jasjit Kaur Dist. Magistrate Bijnor Chairman Dist Level Caste Scrutiny Committee Dist. Bijnor, Decided on 20.11.2025
Allahabad High Court

The Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench, has issued a bailable warrant against the District Magistrate of Bijnor, who is also the Chairperson of the District Level Caste Scrutiny Committee, for failing to comply with the Court’s earlier directions in a contempt matter.

According to the office report, notice was served on the respondent for 6 November 2025. On that date, the State’s Standing Counsel sought two weeks’ time to file a compliance affidavit, which was granted. However, it was later informed that despite receiving notice, the respondent did not contact the Office of the Chief Standing Counsel at any stage.

Taking note of this non-compliance, Justice Manish Kumar directed that a bailable warrant be issued through the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bijnor, to secure the respondent’s presence before the Court on the next date of listing. The matter has been ordered to be listed in the week commencing 5 January 2026.
