Bombay HC Issues Notice on Doctor’s Plea Challenging CET Rule Mandating Surrender of CAP/MOP-UP Seat Before Institutional Round

Bombay High Court

A Division Bench of the Bombay High Court comprising Justice R.I. Chagla and Justice Advait M. Sethna has issued notice in a petition filed by a doctor challenging a condition in the CET/MAH-PGP-CET-2025 examination process which mandates cancellation of admissions secured through CAP or MOP-UP rounds as a prerequisite for participating in the Institutional Level Round.

The petitioner has contended that the stipulation is arbitrary and compels candidates to surrender a confirmed seat without any assurance of admission through the Institutional Round. Advocate Tanvi Dubey appeared on behalf of the petitioner doctor.

The High Court has sought a response from the authorities.
