The South East District Court, Saket, New Delhi, presided by Civil Judge Yashu Khurana, directed the defendant (Parents) to pay ₹1,21,418 along with 10% annual interest from the date of filing the suit till its realization.
The suit was filed by Bluebells School International through its authorised representative, seeking recovery of unpaid dues for school fees of the defendant’s son. Despite repeated reminders and a legal notice dated May 31, 2024, the defendant failed to pay, prompting the school to approach the court. The defendant did not appear even after being served and was proceeded ex-parte.
The plaintiff supported its case with documentary evidence including the child’s admission records, school fee ledger, recognition certificate from the Directorate of Education, and board resolutions authorising the suit.
The Court found the claim uncontroverted and awarded interest at 10% per annum (reduced from the claimed 18%) considering reasonableness.
