Delhi Court Rejects Transit Anticipatory Bail for Goa Nightclub Owners in Deadly Fire Case

Transit Anticipatory Bail

A Delhi Court refused to grant transit anticipatory bail to Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, owners of the Goa nightclub where a December 6 blaze claimed 25 lives. Additional Sessions Judge Vandana (Rohini Courts) dismissed their plea despite arguments from Senior Advocates Siddharth Luthra and Tanveer Ahmed Mir that the brothers were not absconding and feared targeted action by the Goa government.

Goa Police, represented by Senior Advocate Abhinav Mukerji, opposed the application, stating that the Luthras booked an early-morning flight to Thailand just hours after the fire and that their family withheld information from investigators. Police further alleged that the club operated without the required licences.

The Court however rejected the transit anticipatory bail plea.
