The Delhi High Court on Thursday indicated it would issue stay orders against entities misusing actor Salman Khan’s name, photos and personality attributes to sell unauthorised merchandise. Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora directed social media platforms and intermediaries to treat Khan’s plaint as a complaint under the IT Intermediaries Rules and act on it within three days.

Counsel representing Salman Khan alleged that several platforms, including AI chatbots, e-commerce sites and RedBubble, were enabling infringement and hosting photoshopped images without consent.

The Court questioned intermediaries on their takedown practices, with one admitting it had no uniform policy.
