The Delhi High Court has directed the Election Commission of India to promptly decide an application filed by former MP and Former BRS leader K. Kavitha seeking registration of her political party, ‘Telangana Praja Jagruti’.

She contended that the application has remained pending without any action or explanation from the Commission. Emphasising urgency due to upcoming local body elections in Telangana, including Zilla Parishad and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC), she sought early consideration of her plea.

A bench of Justice Amit Bansal directed the ECI to decide the application expeditiously and disposed of the matter.
