Delhi High Court Quashes Case Against Gautam Gambhir Foundation Over Alleged Hoarding of COVID-19 Drugs

The Delhi High Court on Friday quashed criminal proceedings against the Gautam Gambhir Foundation, which had been booked for allegedly stocking and distributing COVID-19 drugs without authorisation during the second wave of the pandemic. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna allowed the Foundation’s plea to set aside the case as well as the orders passed by a Metropolitan Magistrate.

The proceedings had earlier been stayed by the Court in September 2021. During the hearing, it was submitted that the Foundation had procured the medicines from legitimate vendors and distributed them free of cost at a medical camp, with no allegations of sale or profiteering.
