The Delhi High Court, on October 28, 2025, held a solemn swearing-in ceremony of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dinesh Mehta, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Avneesh Jhingan, and Hon’ble Ms. Justice Chandrasekharan Sudha, as Judges of the Delhi High Court.
The oath of office was administered by Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, in the presence of Judges, senior members of the Bar, officers of the Court, and dignitaries from the legal fraternity. With these appointments, the strength of the Delhi High Court has further increased to 44 Judges.
In August 2025, the Supreme Court collegium had recommended the transfer of 14 judges across various High Courts. Subsequently, via separate notifications dated October 14, 2025, the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice, had notified the transfer of Justice Dinesh Mehta, Justice Avneesh Jhingan and Justice Chandrasekharan Sudha to the Delhi High Court.
Justice Dinesh Mehta, previously served as a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice Avneesh Jhingan is transferred from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, and Justice Chandrasekharan Sudha, previously served as a Judge of the Madras High Court.
