The Supreme Court Lawyers Welfare Trust (SCLWT) has announced the 2026 edition of the J.S. Verma Fellowship, selecting Archita Nigam, Surabhi Vaya, and Mallika Agarwal as this year’s fellows after a highly competitive selection process.

The fellowship, instituted in memory of former Chief Justice of India Justice J.S. Verma, is a prestigious initiative aimed at nurturing young legal talent and supporting their engagement with litigation and legal practice before the Supreme Court of India.

Announcing the results, the Trust extended congratulations to the newly selected fellows and expressed confidence that they would continue the proud tradition established by earlier recipients of the fellowship.

The Trust noted that the selection process this year was particularly competitive, with approximately 170 applications received from across the country. The Trustees highlighted the exceptional quality of candidates and extended their best wishes to all applicants for their future professional journeys.

The J.S. Verma Fellowship selection process involved a detailed review of applications followed by interviews conducted by members of the Trust. The Trustees are Justice (Retd.) Aftab Alam, Chairman of the Trust, along with Senior Advocates C.U. Singh, Ragenth Basanth, and Gopal Sankaranarayan, as well as Rahul Narayan, Mamta Kachwaha, Vrinda Bhandari, Nikhil Singhvi, Pallav Mongia, Jaikriti Sinh Jadeja, Adit Pujari, and Sanaya Nariman, who collectively reviewed the applications and conducted the interviews.
