Justice Soumen Sen Appointed Chief Justice of Kerala High Court

In exercise of powers under Article 222(1) of the Constitution of India, the President of India has ordered the transfer of Justice Soumen Sen, presently serving as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, to the Kerala High Court. Justice Sen has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court following the retirement of Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar, who demits office on 9 January 2026.

The transfer has been effected after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, and Justice Soumen Sen has been directed to assume charge as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court upon the retirement of his predecessor.
