Justice Soumen Sen Sworn In As Chief Justice Of Kerala High Court

Justice Soumen Sen, who was serving as Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

The oath of office was administered by Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other dignitaries at the Raj Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.

Justice Sen takes charge as the 40th Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court following his transfer from the Meghalaya High Court. He will be succeeding Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar.

The High Court has announced that a Full Court Sitting will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:15 am in the Chief Justice’s Court to formally welcome Justice Sen. The Advocate General, the President of the Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association, and Justice A.K. Jayasankaran Nambiar are scheduled to speak on the occasion
