The Madhya Pradesh High Court has allowed candidates lacking a CPCT (Computer Proficiency Certification Test) clearance certificate to provisionally apply for the Data Entry Operator examination, observing that such certification may not be a mandatory requirement under the applicable rules.
Justice Vishal Dhagat passed the order while hearing a writ petition filed by Heeralal Jatav and others, who sought permission to fill out the examination form despite not possessing the CPCT certificate. The petitioners argued that the relevant recruitment rules do not mandate CPCT qualification and instead prescribe educational qualifications such as 10+2 along with computer-related diplomas or degrees including PGDCA, BCA, or equivalent certifications.
Taking note of the submissions, the Court issued notice to the State and directed that the petitioners be permitted to provisionally fill out the application form for the examination. The matter has been listed for further hearing in the week commencing April 27, 2026.
The order provides interim relief to the petitioners while keeping open the larger question regarding the mandatory nature of CPCT certification for such recruitment.
