In a notification dated 12 July 2025, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the President of India, in exercise of powers under Article 80(1)(a) read with Article 80(3) of the Constitution, has nominated four distinguished individuals to the Rajya Sabha to fill vacancies arising from the retirement of previously nominated members.
The newly nominated members are:
Shri Ujjwal Deorao Nikam – Renowned public prosecutor
Shri C. Sadanandan Master – Veteran social and educational activist
Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla – Former Foreign Secretary and diplomat
Dr. Meenakshi Jain – Acclaimed historian and academic
