The Supreme Court on Friday sought the Union Government’s response on a plea filed by former MP Subramanian Swamy seeking a decision on his representation to declare Ram Setu as a National Monument and a monument of national importance under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958.
A Bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta issued notice to the Union of India and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), making it returnable within four weeks.
