The Supreme Court granted ad-interim bail to Pinnelli Rama Krishna Reddy in connection with FIR registered at Veldurthy Police Station, District Palnadu, Andhra Pradesh. The FIR, dated May 24, 2025, had led to criminal proceedings against the petitioner.
A Bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta issued notice in the Special Leave Petition filed by Reddy, challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s order of August 29, 2025. The matter has been tagged with a related case.
As an interim measure, the Court directed that in the event of his arrest, Reddy be released on bail upon furnishing a personal bond of ₹25,000 with one or more sureties of like amount. The Court, however, directed him to cooperate with the investigation and appear before the Investigating Officer as and when required.
The Bench clarified that if the petitioner is found to be delaying trial proceedings, the trial court or the State would be at liberty to approach the Supreme Court for recall of the order. The respondents have been granted three weeks to file their counter affidavits.
