The Supreme Court declined to entertain petitions concerning the release of the film Udaipur Files, urging all parties to pursue their remedies before the Delhi High Court. A Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi requested the High Court to hear the matter at the earliest, following the Central Government’s decision to permit the release of the film with certain modifications.
The Court recorded the withdrawal of the producer’s Special Leave Petition, and noted that the accused has also approached the High Court. Accordingly, the Supreme Court closed all petitions before it, granting liberty to pursue remedies before the appropriate forum.
