The Supreme Court of India granted interim relief to petitioner by ordering that he be released on personal bond of ₹25,000 in the event of arrest in connection with FIR No. 101/2025, registered at Police Station Thiruvalangadu. The case pertains to an alleged abduction, in which the petitioner claims he has been falsely implicated.
A Bench comprising Justice Manoj Misra and Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, sitting on partial court working days, heard Senior Advocates Sidharth Luthra, S. Prabakaran, and Apurba Kumar Sharma for the petitioner. The petitioner contended that the abductee had already been recovered and not from his possession or control, and that his involvement in the incident was alleged purely for malicious reasons.
It was further argued that even if there was any interaction between the petitioner and any party to the underlying dispute, it was only in the context of settlement discussions, and in any case, there was no need for custodial interrogation.
Taking note of the submissions, the Court held that the matter requires consideration and issued notice to the respondent. Meanwhile, the Court also directed that in case of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on a personal bond, subject to the condition that he cooperates with the investigation and does not threaten witnesses or tamper with evidence.
