The Supreme Court, on Monday, has issued a circular introducing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) mandating strict timelines for submission of oral arguments and written notes in all post-notice and regular hearing matters, with immediate effect. The SOP has been issued to ensure efficient court management and optimal use of judicial time.
• Arguing counsel and Senior Advocates must submit the expected duration of oral arguments at least one day before the hearing through the online portal for submitting Appearance Slips already provided to the AOR.
• Written submissions limited to five pages must be filed at least three days prior to the hearing, after serving a copy on the opposite party.
• Counsel are required to strictly adhere to the time limits fixed by the Court during oral submissions.
