TN Bar Council suspends Lawyer from practice for using obscene language and obstructing public servants

The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has suspended Advocate Mr. R. Balasubramanian from practicing law across all courts, tribunals, and legal forums in India. The action was taken following a resolution dated 04.07.2025, after the Bar Council reviewed a High Court order and supporting materials from the Registrar General of the Madras High Court.

The suspension stems from the advocate’s use of obscene and unparliamentary language directed at Hon’ble Judges and Courts within the courtroom and premises. Additionally, he was found to have obstructed public servants from performing their duties, actions which the Bar Council stated have undermined the dignity of the legal profession and the judiciary.

The suspension will remain in force until the disciplinary proceedings against him are concluded. The notification, dated 07.07.2025, has been circulated to all relevant legal and government authorities.
