The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre (TIAC) are thrilled to present the 5th edition of Uzbek Arbitration Week (UzAW 2025), a premier platform taking place 23–26 September 2025 in Tashkent. UzAW 2025 will unite leading arbitrators, counsel, in-house lawyers, business leaders, and academics from all over the world to exchange ideas, share best practices, and foster cross-border cooperation in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
Uzbekistan is rapidly emerging as a preferred seat for international arbitration, supported by significant legislative and institutional reforms. The adoption of the UNCITRAL Model Law in 2021 has aligned the country’s arbitration framework with leading global standards. In parallel, Uzbek courts have consistently enforced foreign arbitral awards, including those against state-owned entities — reaffirming their neutrality, independence, and strong pro-arbitration approach.
Launched in 2019, TIAC is committed to innovation efficiency, and international best practices advancing its mission to become a leading global arbitral institution. Since then, it has:
• Tripled its caseload as of January 2025 as compared to January 2024
• Registered 43 cases in 2024, with 25% involving non Uzbek parties on both claimant and respondent sides
• Earned a GAR “Best Innovation” nomination together with the HKIAC for the TIAC–HKIAC Cross-Institutional Rules
• Featured in Forbes article for creating a business-friendly, investor-trusted environment for dispute avoidance and resolution
• Received numerous positive testimonials from TIAC users including non-confidential feedback from Techcross Water & Energy (Korea)
UzAW is set to be a flagship forum for showcasing Uzbekistan’s rising profile as an arbitration-friendly jurisdiction, while spotlighting the latest trends and reforms in alternative dispute resolution across the region and worldwide. Here’s what to look forward to at the 23–24 September conference:
• Uzbekistan on the Global Arbitration Map – latest developments
• Deals, Disputes & Damage Control – in-house counsel insights
• DOs & DON’Ts in International Arbitration – counsel and arbitrator perspectives
• English Law Day
Be part of the conversations shaping the future of arbitration in the CIS region and beyond.
