In a proceeding arising out of the Delhi liquor policy case, the Delhi High Court has issued notice on multiple applications seeking recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, including one filed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) head and former CM Arvind Kejriwal, who appeared in person and sought to argue his plea.
The Solicitor General Tushar Mehta termed the recusal pleas “frivolous” and raised concerns about repeated allegations against judicial institutions. The Court, however, took the application on record and issued notice, observing, “reply, if any, be filed… both parties may file written submissions,” while also clarifying that all such pleas would be considered together.
Taking note of the seriousness of the matter, the Court scheduled an early hearing.
