The Allahabad High Court (Lucknow Bench) has granted relief to Indra Institute of Paramedical and Nursing College after a technical glitch in fee transfer threatened to bar its students from appearing in the upcoming examinations.
The college explained that although it had deposited the examination fees through banking channels, the money was returned without fault on its part. As a result, the authorities refused to accept the fees again, citing expiry of deadlines.
Justice Pankaj Bhatia, in an order dated 1 September 2025, directed that the institution be allowed to submit the required fees afresh by way of a bank draft or banker’s cheque, and that the authorities must consider the request within 24 hours.
When the authorities later rejected the representation on 3 September 2025, the High Court intervened once more. By its second order, the Court clarified that earlier deadlines and restrictions could not be used against fresh applicants in such cases. It quashed the rejection order and directed the officials to reconsider the matter urgently, keeping in mind that the written examinations were scheduled to commence on 9 September 2025.
The Court stressed that students should not be penalised for banking lapses or technical errors beyond their control, and instructed the authorities to take steps ensuring that eligible students are permitted to sit for the examinations.
