The Supreme Court on Wednesday cancelled the bail granted by the Allahabad High Court to an accused of running a racket involving forged LL.B. degree certificates, and simultaneously issued detailed directions to High Courts to ensure greater transparency and uniformity in bail orders.

Setting aside the High Court’s order dated July 30, 2025, a Bench comprising Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice R. Mahadevan held that the allegations against the accused disclosed a systematic and organised operation involving fabrication and circulation of fake law degrees, with serious implications for the integrity of the legal profession. The Court also took note of allegations that the accused misused the liberty of bail by intimidating and stalking the complainant.
