The present application was filed before the Allahabad High Court by Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Jagatguru Shankaracharya Jyotishpeethadheeshwar seeking anticipatory bail regarding a case registered for the commission of offences punishable under Section 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS) as well as Sections 5(1), 6, 3, 4(2), 16, and 17 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act).
A Single Judge Bench of Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha reserved its judgment on the matter and directed that the applicants not be arrested until the application was disposed of, and that they cooperate with the investigation.
The counsels for the parties were directed to file their written submissions by 12-03-2026.
