The Patiala House Court, Delhi has granted bail to Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Uday Bhanu Chib, who was arrested in connection with a protest held during the India AI Impact Summit.
IYC President was produced before the duty magistrate at around 1 a.m. on Saturday after completing a four-day police custody period that had been granted on February 24.
Duty Magistrate Vanshika Mehta was hearing a plea by the Delhi Police seeking a seven-day extension of Chib’s custody. The Court, however, rejected the request and ordered his release on bail.
