Bombay HC Designates 23 Special Fast Track Courts for Public Examination Malpractice Cases

The Bombay High Court has designated 23 Special Fast Track Courts across Maharashtra to exclusively conduct trials relating to offences under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), and the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and Other Specified Examinations Act, 1982. The designation was notified by the Registrar (Inspection-I) through a notice dated August 1, 2026.

The notified courts are spread across districts including Beed, Chandrapur, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Jalgaon, Jalna, Kolhapur, Nashik, Osmanabad, Parbhani, Pune, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Thane, Wardha, Yavatmal, Washim, Nandurbar and Mumbai. The Mumbai designations include the City Civil and Sessions Court and the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Vikhroli.
