Delhi High Court Hears Congress Plea on Protest Permission; ASG Seeks Time to Obtain Instructions

Delhi High Court Protest Permission

The Delhi High Court, before Justice Amit Mahajan, on Monday heard a plea filed by the Indian National Congress seeking permission to hold a protest. Senior Advocates Sidharth Luthra and Vivek Tankha appeared for the petitioners, while Additional Solicitor General Sharma sought time to obtain instructions.

Counsel for the petitioners urged the Court to hear the matter urgently, submitting that the petition had been filed four days earlier and involved important questions concerning constitutional rights and public interest. They requested that the matter be taken up later in the day rather than deferred.

The ASG Chetan Sharma sought time to obtain instructions on the plea.

The matter was listed for further consideration on October 13, 2026.
