Fire Breaks Out At Gurugram District Court Complex; Judicial Work In Main Building Suspended

Gurugram court fire incident

A major fire broke out at the Gurugram district court complex on Sunday, causing substantial damage to the main court building and disrupting regular judicial functioning. The blaze reportedly originated in the record room of the lower court premises, where paper case records were stored, prompting the deployment of multiple fire tenders. Firefighting operations continued for several hours before the situation was brought under control.

Parts of the building suffered structural damage, including the collapse of a section of the ceiling. Following the incident, the main court premises have been sealed, with access to advocates’ chambers also restricted.

In view of the damage, regular judicial work in the main building remained suspended on Monday, May 25. Authorities have clarified that no adverse orders will be passed in matters listed for the day, and advocates have been advised to avoid visiting the court complex unless necessitated by urgent work.
