Justice Bindal joins Parul

Parul University has announced the engagement of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, as Distinguished Professor of Law at the Parul Institute of Law.

Justice Rajesh Bindal brings with him an exceptional legacy of judicial service, having served at the highest level of the Indian judiciary. His distinguished tenure on the Supreme Court Bench has been marked by substantive contributions to constitutional adjudication, statutory interpretation, and judicial reasoning. Through this academic engagement, students will have the unique opportunity to benefit from first-hand interaction with a jurist whose experience spans some of the most intricate legal and constitutional questions of contemporary India.

Justice Bindal has consistently articulated a constitutional philosophy centred on the balance between rights and duties. He has observed that public discourse often disproportionately focuses on individual rights, while insufficient attention is paid to the civic and constitutional responsibilities that sustain democratic governance. His perspective is expected to offer students a deeper engagement with the constitutional ethos of India and the equilibrium essential to a just legal order.

Speaking on the significance of this association, the University emphasised that this is intended to be a substantive and ongoing academic collaboration designed to enrich legal pedagogy through experience-led learning and institutional mentorship. The presence of a former Supreme Court judge within the academic ecosystem is expected to significantly enhance students’ understanding of judicial functioning, constitutional values, professional ethics, and the craft of legal reasoning.

Parul University believes that such collaborations are central to building a future-ready legal education framework one that is not merely instructional, but transformative. By integrating leading judicial minds into academia, the institution seeks to create an environment where future members of the Bar and Bench are trained with both intellectual depth and practical perspective.
