The Kerala High Court has designated Advocate P.B. Menon, a veteran lawyer practising in Palakkad, as a Senior Advocate, marking the first time in the Court’s history that a lawyer practising in mofussil courts has received the designation.
The announcement was made by Chief Justice Soumen Sen at Palakkad during the celebrations marking Menon’s 100th birthday. Former and sitting judges, including Justices V. Chitambaresh, Krishnakumar and Jayakumar, were present at the event.
The Full Court had approved the designation by circulation on the previous day. The decision coincided with the centenary celebrations of Menon, regarded as a doyen of the Palakkad Bar.
