Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) advised Parijat Industries (India) Limited (Parijat) on its acquisition of a retailer-focused digital commerce platform and associated retail database from PEAT GmbH, an agri-input portfolio company and subsidiary of HELM AG, Germany, and overall, on the transactional aspects of the strategic collaboration between the parties. The transaction also marks the beginning of a broader strategic collaboration between Parijat and HELM, spanning across digital commerce, branded crop protection products, technical manufacturing and international distribution.

The collaboration will enable the parties to leverage their respective sourcing, manufacturing and distribution capabilities across markets, while integrating digital commerce, product innovation and global supply-chain capabilities in the Indian agrochemical sector. As part of the arrangement, Parijat and its subsidiary, Leeds Life Sciences Private Limited, will also receive exclusive rights to use the HELM brand in India.
