As part of the celebrations marking 75 years of the Supreme Court of India, a book titled Climate Justice: 75 Years of Supreme Court – 75 Judgments that Built Climate Jurisprudence in India authored by environmental lawyer and Supreme Court advocate Sudhir Mishra will be released in New Delhi on June 6.
The book will be formally released by Dr. Lalit Bhasin, Managing Partner of Bhasin & Co. and President of the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF), Mr Chetan Sharma, Additional Solicitor General of India for the Delhi High Court and Mr Sujeet Kumar, Member of Parliament and Advocate in the Supreme Court. The event will be held at the Regal Room, The Lalit, New Delhi.
The publication examines 75 landmark judgments of the Supreme Court that have shaped India’s environmental and climate jurisprudence over the decades. Through a study of key judicial interventions, the book traces the evolution of principles relating to environmental protection, sustainable development, ecological conservation and climate governance in India.
The launch event is scheduled on 6th June. The programme is being organised in association with the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF), BW Businessworld, OakBridge Publishing and SMCEC.
