A Court in Madhya Pradesh remanded model-actor Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, to five days’ custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the investigation into her death.
According to PTI, the CBI produced both accused before the court and sought custodial interrogation for five days each. The custody of Samarth Singh, who was already in CBI remand, has now been extended by a further five days.
Justice Shobhana Bhalawe allowed the CBI’s applications seeking custody of Giribala Singh, a former judge, and Samarth Singh, a lawyer by profession.
The agency sought further custodial interrogation as part of its ongoing probe into the circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death. The matter is currently being investigated by the CBI following transfer of the case to the central agency.
Further details regarding the allegations and the grounds relied upon by the CBI in seeking custody are awaited.
