Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced that the Centre will establish fast-track courts to ensure the speedy trial and stringent punishment of those involved in examination paper leak cases, describing the welfare and future of the country’s youth as the government’s “highest priority.”
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said he had directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps to operationalise the decision, adding that the move forms part of a series of measures aimed at safeguarding the interests of students.

The announcement comes against the backdrop of mounting public outrage over recurring examination paper leak scandals and their devastating impact on students. The issue has sparked sustained protests by students and activists across the country, including the recent demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding accountability for repeated leaks and examination irregularities. The protests were followed by allegations of police brutality, including the use of force against peaceful demonstrators, which are presently under challenge before the Delhi High Court.
