A court in Pune has remanded Siya Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary to 14 days of judicial custody in the alleged murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal, after declining the police’s request for further custodial interrogation.
The two are accused of conspiring to kill Agarwal by allegedly pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18. According to the prosecution, the murder was premeditated and the accused used coded conversations to coordinate the alleged crime. Investigators recently recovered another mobile phone allegedly belonging to Siya Goyal and sought extended police custody to confront the accused with fresh digital evidence.
However, the court rejected the plea for further police remand and instead sent both accused to judicial custody till July 16.
