Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) acted as legal counsel to SolarSquare Energy Private Limited (“SolarSquare”) in connection with its Series C funding round of USD 53 million (approximately INR 508 crore), led by B Capital, with participation from existing investors Lightspeed, Lowercarbon Capital, Good Capital, Zerodha and Better Capital.

SolarSquare is India’s leading full-stack residential solar platform that designs, installs and maintains rooftop solar systems for homes, housing societies and enterprises. The company has installed over 150 MW of solar capacity across 29 cities in nine states, powering nearly 50,000 homes and approximately 400 housing societies. SolarSquare has also deployed rooftop solar solutions for various leading enterprises.

SAM advised SolarSquare on all legal aspects of the transaction, including the drafting, negotiation and finalisation of the share subscription agreement, shareholders’ agreement, share purchase agreements, founders’ employment agreements and other ancillary transaction documents. The Firm also conducted the vendor legal due diligence for the transaction.
