Solistra AI Launches Matter-Centric Legal Intelligence Platform for Complex Legal Work

Matter-Centric Legal Intelligence Platform

New legal technology platform brings documents, research, review, consistency checks and drafting into a single matter-based workspace

Legal technology company Solistra AI has introduced a matter-centric legal intelligence platform aimed at helping lawyers manage complex legal work by bringing documents, context, research, analysis and drafting together within a single workspace.

The platform is built around what Solistra calls a “Matter”, a workspace in which source documents, working drafts, research, conversations and findings remain connected throughout the lifecycle of a matter. The company says the approach is intended to address a common limitation of AI tools, where users often have to upload documents and provide background context repeatedly across different interactions.

Three Modes of AI-Assisted Review

Solistra’s AI Assistant is designed to work across three principal modes.

● Chat allows lawyers to interact with the material in natural language and ask questions about the matter.

● Tabular Review is aimed at structured document analysis, including extracting termination clauses, comparing indemnity caps and checking obligations across large sets of documents.

● The third, Consistency Review, is designed to identify issues that may not have been specifically anticipated by the user. According to the company, the feature examines documents within a Matter for inconsistencies in facts, dates, obligations and other information across the record.

The company positions this functionality as particularly relevant to due diligence and disputes, where inconsistencies may emerge only when multiple documents are examined together.

Research Integrated With the Matter

Solistra also seeks to bring legal research into the same workflow rather than treating research as a separate stage of the process.

The platform offers Indian case-law research, case-similarity matching, court-authority ranking and citation existence checks, along with connectivity with eCourts and access to external research tools, including a US legal research client.

The company says this enables research findings to move directly into the drafting and review workflow within the same Matter.

From Research to Drafting and Review

The platform also includes tools for drafting from scratch, document review and redlining, playbook-based checks and adversarial analysis. Documents can subsequently be exported in DOCX format.

Solistra is initially focusing on complex Indian legal workflows, with the company indicating that it intends to expand towards broader cross-jurisdictional support over time.

The company’s approach comes amid a growing legal technology market in India, with AI-based platforms increasingly focusing on research, document analysis, drafting and matter management rather than standalone conversational tools.

Legal Work Does Not Happen One Prompt at a Time

Solistra AI Co-founder Rohit Sinha describes the company’s approach as being based on the way lawyers actually work.

“

“Legal work does not happen one prompt at a time.”

According to him, lawyers work through Matters in which documents, facts, authorities and decisions evolve together, and AI systems should be designed around that workflow.

He also emphasises that the platform is intended to assist rather than replace legal judgment.

“

“We don’t see AI replacing legal judgment.”

The company says its objective is to help lawyers work through larger volumes of underlying material while retaining visibility into the basis of an answer and areas of uncertainty.

AI as an Intelligence Layer, Not a Substitute for Legal Judgment

Solistra’s positioning reflects a broader shift in legal AI towards systems that combine research, document intelligence and drafting within a continuous workflow. Other Indian legal technology platforms are similarly moving towards integrated workspaces that combine research, drafting, document review and matter-level information.

For Solistra, the central proposition is that legal work should be organised around the Matter, rather than around individual prompts or isolated documents.
