FAIMA Moves Supreme Court Over NEET-UG 2026, Seeks Re-Exam and Overhaul of NTA

FAIMA Moves Supreme Court Over NEET-UG 2026, Seeks Re-Exam and Overhaul of NTA

NEET UG 2026 Petition

The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has moved the Supreme Court challenging the conduct of NEET-UG 2026, alleging systemic failures by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in conducting the examination.

A writ petition filed in the Supreme Court has been instituted by FAIMA against the National Testing Agency and others, with advocate Tanvi Dubey appearing for the petitioner.

The petition seeks sweeping directions, including replacement or fundamental restructuring of the NTA with a more robust and technologically advanced autonomous body for conducting NEET examinations.

FAIMA has also sought the constitution of a high-powered monitoring committee, headed by a retired Supreme Court judge along with a cybersecurity expert and a forensic scientist, to supervise the examination process.

Among the key prayers is a direction for re-conduct of NEET-UG 2026 under strict judicial oversight, along with systemic reforms such as digital locking of question papers, transition to a computer-based test (CBT) model, and publication of centre-wise results to enhance transparency.

The plea also seeks directions to the CBI to file a status report on the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak investigation, including details of arrests, identified networks, and progress of prosecution.

The matter is presently pending before the Supreme Court.
