The Delhi High Court on Monday quashed an assault case filed by former Executive Director of Godfrey Phillips India, Samir Modi against his mother Bina Modi, Senior advocate Lalit Bhasin, and her personal security officer Surendra Prasad, after being informed that the parties have amicably settled their disputes.
Justice Saurabh Banerjee passed the order upon noting that Samir Modi has withdrawn his complaint in light of the settlement. The case arose from allegations of assault levelled by him against the respondents.
Bina Modi, Lalit Bhasin, and Surendra Prasad had earlier approached the High Court seeking quashing of the trial court proceedings initiated against them. The High Court had, in March, stayed further proceedings in the matter.
Taking note of the settlement and withdrawal of the complaint, the Court brought the criminal proceedings to an end, effectively closing the case between the parties.
