Centre Notifies Appointment of Three Judges, Four Additional Judges to Patna High Court

The Central Government has notified the appointment of seven advocates to the Patna High Court, including three as permanent judges and four as additional judges. The notification was issued by the Department of Justice on June 10, 2026.

According to the notification, Advocates Ranjan Kumar Jha, Kumar Manish, and Raj Kumar have been appointed as Judges of the Patna High Court with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.

The Centre has also appointed Advocates Rana Vikram Singh, Vikash Kumar, Girijish Kumar, and Alok Kumar as Additional Judges of the Patna High Court for a period of two years from the date they assume office.

The appointments have been made in exercise of powers under Articles 217(1) and 224 of the Constitution of India. The notification was issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice (Appointments Division), and is to be published in the Gazette of India.

Appointed as Judges:

• Ranjan Kumar Jha

• Kumar Manish

• Raj Kumar

Appointed as Additional Judges (for two years):

• Rana Vikram Singh

• Vikash Kumar

• Girijish Kumar

• Alok Kumar.
