The Central government has notified the appointment of three Additional Judges of the Madras High Court as Permanent Judges.

As per the notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice on April 10, 2026, Justices R. Poornima, M. Jothiraman, and Augustine Devadoss Maria Clete have been elevated as Permanent Judges with effect from the date they assume charge of their offices. The appointments have been made under Article 217 of the Constitution.
