CII to Host Webinar on Cross-Border Dispute Resolution, Focus on Mediation Over Litigation

The Confederation of Indian Industry through its National Legal Services Committee and Sub-Committee on Mediation along with SILF is set to organise a webinar titled “Settling Disputes without Borders: Choosing Mediation over Litigation” on Friday, 01 May 2026 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM (IST).

The session aims to highlight the growing importance of mediation as an effective, efficient, and globally relevant mechanism for dispute resolution, particularly in cross-border and commercial contexts. With increasing emphasis on reducing litigation burden and fostering collaborative dispute resolution, the webinar will bring together leading jurists, senior advocates, mediators, and corporate experts to deliberate on why mediation is becoming the preferred alternative.

The webinar will open with a Welcome Address by Lalit Bhasin, Chairman of the CII National Committee on Legal Services and President of the Society of Indian Law Firms.

The Keynote Address will be delivered by Justice Dipak Misra, who will share insights on the evolving mediation landscape in India and globally.

The session will also feature Opening Remarks by Amarjit Singh Chandhiok, Senior Advocate and former President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association.

A panel discussion on “Why Mediation is Necessary” will follow, moderated by Rashmi Kathpalia, Arbitrator & Mediator at MCPC, Supreme Court of India.
